How to Get Involved

If you are an individual or organization in need of chaplaincy services including a ministry of presence, spiritual companionship, and advocacy or if you would like a preacher or adult education leader, please call Joan at Chaplains on the Way at 617-504-6877 or e-mail her at info@chaplainsontheway.org.
If you are interested in becoming a pastoral care visitor, please e-mail Joan at info@chaplainsontheway.org and let her know about your prior experience working with people struggling with homelessness, mental illness and/or addiction, if any, whether you speak a language in addition to English (Spanish is especially helpful), why you are interested in COTW as a place to volunteer, and days and times when you are available to volunteer.
If you are interested in other volunteer activities, please e-mail Joan at info@chaplainsontheway.org to let her know the skills you would like to offer. Help with grant-writing and fundraising is always welcome.
If you are a student interested in pursuing an internship at Chaplains on the Way, please e-mail Joan at info@chaplainsontheway.org and include the name of your seminary or school and the program you are in. In addition, please describe any prior experience you have working with people struggling with homelessness, mental illness and/or addiction and say why you think Chaplains on the Way would be a good field education site for you. Chaplains on the Way is a field education site for Andover Newton Theological School (ANTS) and accepts students from all Boston Theological Institute (BTI) seminaries.
